IUB-Bidney Paper Award
A prize of $200.00 will be awarded for the best paper written by a graduate student for a regular course during the previous calendar year. Graduate students or faculty in Anthropology may submit one student paper to the Graduate Affairs Committee for the competition. Papers will be judged according to the following criteria:
1. originality of the main idea and content
2. organization and lucidity of the argument
3. readability and stylistic qualities
4. scholarly presentation
5. contribution to anthropological knowledge
Papers should conform to the style of the American Anthropologist.

- 1. Essay title
- 2. Course title and number of the Anthropology course for which you wrote the essay. NOTE: The paper must be from the previous calendar year.
- 3. Semester and year the Anthropology course was taken. NOTE: The paper must be from the previous calendar year. For example, if you are applying in Spring 2025, the paper must have been written for a class taken in Spring 2024, Summer 2024, or Fall 2024.
