IUB-Kishor and Pallavi Bhatt Expanding Horizons Fund

The Kishor and Pallavi Bhatt Expanding Horizons Graduate Fellowship in Cognitive Science (Bhatt Expanding Horizons Fellowship) recognizes outstanding academic and research excellence and future promise among graduate students in Cognitive Science. Eligible students must have completed at least one full year in the Cognitive Science Ph.D. program and be pursuing either a stand-alone Cognitive Science Ph.D. or a joint Ph.D. that includes Cognitive Science. Applicants should have a strong academic record and demonstrate exceptional potential for substantive research contributions in any area of the field. The fellowship may be awarded as either a single-semester fellowship or a two-semester fellowship.

The recipient(s) will be selected by a committee appointed by the Director of the Cognitive Science Program. The committee may include faculty members from various subfields of Cognitive Science to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation. The committee shall determine the selection process and criteria for evaluating applicants and selecting the recipients.

Donor Intent:It is the intent of the Donor, and the Foundation agrees, that this gift be used to support graduate students in or initiatives of the Cognitive Science Program within the College of Arts and Sciences . The Donor prefers that funds be used to support graduate students first. Expenditures may include, but are not limited to, travel, conferences, lab visits, visits to peer institutions, and internships at the discretion of the Director of the Program in accordance with guidelines and procedures established by the College, Indiana University, and the Foundation.
