IUI/IUC/IUFW-IUI International Experience Scholarship (Study Abroad)
Need help funding your study abroad experience? As an undergraduate or graduate student, you may be eligible to apply for the International Experience Scholarship. We have two award cycles per year, and preference is given to students who have not previously studied abroad.
- February 1 – Summer, fall semester and academic year programs only
- October 16 – Winter break, spring semester, spring break programs, and summer programs only
Graduate applications will be considered for summer programs only
Eligibility to receive funding:
- In order to receive these funds, you must be a degree-seeking student at IUI, IUC, or IUFW at the time of your study abroad experience.

This application requires a recommendation from a current or past college instructor (with whom you took a class). Your application is incomplete until your recommendation has been received. Please contact your reference NOW, before they receive this request. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the recommendation is completed. The Study Abroad office will not follow up with your reference and if your reference is not received prior to the deadline your application will not be considered. - IES - Program Budget

If you are not participating in a prearranged study abroad program but are instead going abroad to do an independent study or research project of your own design, which will yield the primary credit for your experience abroad, we require a statement from the IUPUI faculty member overseeing your research to describe your project and their role in supervising your work.

This scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate proficiency in writing. Original work is required, and use of artificial intelligence in writing may jeopardize your eligibility to receive the scholarship.
