IUIN-Current (Continuing) Student Diversity Scholars Research Program (DSRP)
Current IUI students pursuing their first undergraduate degree, that will have at least 2 years remaining (a current freshman or sophomore) and have a minimum cumulative IU GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, may want to apply if you:
- Want to continuously engage in faculty-mentored research while pursuing a degree at IUI
- Have already been engaged in research or have previous exposure to research
- Plan to be a full-time undergraduate pursuing a degree in any subject
- Are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- The IUI Diversity Scholars Research Program (DSRP) is a performance-based scholarship directed toward academically talented first-time or incoming transfer students. The program is meant for students who want to continuously engage in faculty-mentored research while pursuing their degree at IUI. Scholars from racial and ethnic populations who have been historically underrepresented in institutions of higher education and whose presence will enhance the learning environment through increased diversity at IUI are encouraged to apply. Participants in the program are members of a community of undergraduate students who benefit from individual support, research activities, faculty mentoring and scholarship funding that leads to graduation with a four-year degree. Priority is given to incoming high school students, although continuing IUI students, as well as transfer students, may also apply. Awards are based on availability and applicants’ qualifications. These highly competitive awards are given to students in a variety of IUI majors/disciplines. A scholar may continue in the program for up to 4 years if he/she maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
