IUC-African American Fund Scholarship
It is the intent of the Donors, and the Foundation agrees, that this gift be used to support scholarships for incoming freshmen students enrolled full-time at Indiana University Columbus who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Because, as part of its mission, Indiana University is committed to diversity, special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. The Donors have a first preference for African American students from Bartholomew County, Indiana and a second preference for African American students. The amount of the Scholarship will be $1,000 per recipient annually. The Scholarship will be renewed for up to three years provided recipients continue to meet the criteria outlined above and the following GPA requirements: upcoming sophomore students must have a non-cumulative minimum GPA of2.75 on a 4.0 scale; upcoming junior students must have a non-cumulative minimum GP A of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale; and upcoming senior students must have a non-cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The number and recipient(s) of the Scholarship will be determined by a scholarship committee of IUC.
