IUIN-Peterson Fellows Program Scholarship (O'Neill SPEA)

This three-semester fellowship provides financial support for talented O’Neill graduate students to gain experience with city government. Peterson Fellows will spend one semester with the Mayor’s Office, one semester with the Indianapolis Airport Authority and one semester with IndyGo. The fellow will work on select projects that address a specific challenge in Indianapolis while supporting the City’s strategic plan and vision. The Fellow receives $15,000 during the course of the three semesters. Students must be interested in a career in public service and in good academic standing. This scholarship is not renewable. Finalists for this scholarship will be interviewed and must be accepted as an intern by the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office, IndyGo and Indianapolis Airport Authority. Applicants may be subject to a background check and drug screening.

The Peterson Fellows Program Scholarship supports a graduate student who is interested in a career in public service and includes a one year paid internship with the City of Indianapolis's Mayor's Office. This program will offer Fellows an opportunity to work in partnership with the City of Indianapolis’s Mayor’s Office on one or more select projects that will address a specific challenge in Indianapolis while supporting the City’s strategic plan and vision. The Fellows program includes a rotation in other City departments and opportunities to meet and work with city leaders and groups. Please submit an essay detailing your interest in this opportunity.
