IUB-Verling & Elizabeth Votaw Undergraduate Summer Research Award

Mr. Votaw earned his BS in Chemistry in 1925 and an MA in 1926. Because they valued the importance of an excellent education and highly esteemed Indiana University, the Votaws established this award in 1986 to provide support for an outstanding student majoring in chemistry or biochemistry to pursue full-time summer research. The recipients shall be undergraduates majoring in chemistry or biochemistry committed to working full time for at least 80% of the full summer term in the research laboratory of a Department faculty member, be strongly committed to a career in laboratory research, in either a corporate or academic setting, and have sufficient academic background to contribute to the laboratory’s research effort. Preference will be given to junior and senior students with financial need.
