IUSB-Officer Paul R. DeGuch Memorial Scholarship

The Officer Paul R. Deguch Memorial Scholarship Program was established in memory of Officer Deguch, a South Bend police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1997. This scholarship is intended to benefit St. Joseph County residents who wish to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. Preference is given to worthy applicants who are St. Joseph County law enforcement officers or their direct descendants. Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered eligible for the scholarship:
1.Be residents of St. Joseph County.
2.Pursue an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice at Indiana University South Bend.
3.Hold and maintain a minimum 2.5 semester grade point average.
4.Complete the IUSB Online Scholarship Application by March 1.
5.Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Award: Up to $1,500 per year (paid $750 per semester) for tuition and required fees. Awards may be renewable for up to 4 years. Students must reapply each year to be eligible for possible renewal. Awards will be based on academic performance and merit.
