IUIN-Sociology Course Best Paper Scholarship (Liberal Arts)

Overview:

This award is presented to one undergraduate sociology major or minor for the best paper written in a sociology course.

This paper will be a minimum of eight (8) pages and should have been submitted in a Sociology course during the previous spring, summer or fall semester.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate student enrolled full time at IU Indianapolis and have declared a major or minor in Sociology
  • Write an academic paper on a sociological topic. The paper can be an empirical study using original data or a critical paper on a sociological topic. In either case, the student should conduct appropriate literature review, propose a clear argument, and demonstrate critical thinking in discussion. The paper should display the student’s understanding and knowledge beyond the course work.

Awarding:

This scholarship will be awarded and disbursed in the spring semester of the current academic year.

Renewability:

This scholarship is not renewable.
