IUSB-Alma and Bill Powell Alumni Endowed Scholarship
It is the intent of the Donors, and the Foundation agrees, that income from this gift be used to support undergraduate scholarships for students on the IU South Bend campus who are working toward a degree in Education or Business and Economics, have a minimum GPA of 2.4 on a 4.0 scale, are enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours, and have financial need as demonstrated on the FAFSA. Because, as part of its mission, Indiana University is committed to diversity, special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. The Donors have a preference for African American students who have graduated from a public high school in the Michiana area to include St. Joseph or Elkhart County, Indiana and are active in a church. The amount of the Scholarship will be a minimum of $500 for each recipient annually. The number, amount(s), and recipient(s) of the Scholarship will be determined by the Alumni Scholarship Committee of IU South Bend.
