IUIN-Jesse H. & Beulah Chanley Cox Scholarship (Incoming Freshman)

Overview
The generosity of Jesse H. and Beulah Chanley Cox allows IU Indianapolis to provide renewable scholarship funding for working students, up to their Costs of Attendance.

This scholarship affirms and rewards the efforts of IU Indianapolis students who have demonstrated the motivation and resourcefulness required for success through their part-time work and solid academic performance. This recognition is earned through a commitment to education, demonstrated by dedication to studies, civic engagement, and continued employment. It exemplifies the values of Mr. Cox, who appreciated hard work and perseverance.

Eligibility
Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student (carrying 12 or more credit hours) on the IUI campus once matriculated;
  • Be pursuing their first undergraduate degree from IU Indianapolis;
  • Be a resident of the state of Indiana;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to funding their own education by working to contribute at least 25% of the standard cost of attendance;
  • Physical Education majors are not eligible for the Cox Scholarship.

*There is a preference to support students with financial need. Need is shown through the information provided on the 25-26 FAFSA. This is not a requirement, but is strongly encouraged for all applicants.

Renewal
Cox funding is renewable for three years. You must maintain full-time enrollment; a 3.0 GPA; and provide documentation of your employment.

  4. The Cox Scholarship has an eligibility requirement that a student is working to support their education each year as a recipient. Please submit a copy of W-2 or official documentation to verify you are working to earn at least 25% of the standard cost of Attendance, or a minimum of 300 worked hours during the year.
