IUSB-Carolyn and Lawrence Garber Summer Research Scholarship

It is the intent of the donors, and the Foundation agrees, that this gift is to be used to support an annual scholarship for an undergraduate student majoring in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at IU South Bend who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, has a goal of pursuing post baccalaureate studies, and is doing research with an IU faculty member on an IU campus. The donor prefer that the research be conducted during the period between spring and fall semester. Applicants whose research is deemed as IU employment will not be eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship is not renewable. The recipient of the scholarship will be determined by a scholarship committee consisting of faculty and staff of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. If, in a given year, there are enough funds available to award more than one individual, there can be more than one recipient that year.
