IUB-Darwin C. Stevens Scholarship

Awarded annually to a graduating senior from Owen Valley High School at Spencer, Indiana who has been accepted for enrollment at Indiana University Bloomington, and who is planning to pursue studies at Indiana University leading to the award of a Baccalaureate degree. The selection of the student to receive this Scholarship shall be made by a committee from the Owen Valley Community High School of Spencer, Indiana composed of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent and the Principal of the high school. In making the selection of the recipient, the selection committee shall take into consideration, among other relevant matters, the student’s scholarship record, activity and achievement record, and character. The financial situation of the recipient may be considered, but shall not be the sole determining factor in his or her selection. In selection of the student, it is the Donor’s hope that it can be awarded to a student planning to pursue his or her studies at the Indiana University School of Business in Business Administration. The Scholarship shall be made annually and for only a one-year period for each recipient. The amount of the Scholarship shall be the available income, and only the income from the corpus of the Scholarship fund, provided however, that the Scholarship shall be at least $1,000 per year, even if it is necessary to use a portion of the corpus of the fund, even to its exhaustion to make that amount. In a given year, should there be no student selected as eligible to receive this Scholarship as hereinabove specified, no award shall be made for that year and the amount which would have been available shall remain a part of the principal of the Scholarship fun
