Assistance for students in attending conferences statewide, national or international devoted to international concerns. Support may be available for other endeavors to assist students who are preparing for a constructive role in the future of international development, either in the graduate or undergraduate level.

About this Award: In memory of Walter H.C., Laves, a long-time Indiana University faculty member whose life and career were deeply influenced by the conviction that a peaceful world order could be achieved through the development of cultural and economic links between nations, and through the creation of effective international institutions. His research and writing, his teaching and his assistance to national governments and to multinational institutions exemplified these objectives, and the funds is dedicated to the support of activities that may serve to further their realization.
