IUIN-Max Kade German-American Center German Study Abroad Scholarship (Liberal Arts)
This scholarship supports undergraduate students pursuing a degree in the School of Liberal Arts who have taken two semesters of beginning German and have enrolled in the IU Indianapolis Heilbronn Program or its future German study abroad program equivalent if the Heilbronn Program ceases to exist.
One scholarship will be awarded to a full or part-time IU Indianapolis undergraduate student working toward a degree in German. Two semesters of German and (planned) participation in an approved study abroad experience required at the time of application.
Applicants may be full- or part-time students working towards a degree. To apply, students must submit the following:
- Statement of Purpose including a description of the Study Abroad program (1-2 pages)
- CV
- One letter of recommendation from a German instructor
- University transcript (unofficial)

- Provide your most recent IU unofficial transcript
- Write an essay about your study abroad plans, your interest in language/culture study, future educational and career plans, and the importance of the study abroad program to your Liberal Arts education. This essay should include a description of the Study Abroad program. (750 words maximum)

Double check the email address you enter, if an incorrect email is entered, there is no system error. You will be responsible to follow up with your reference and communicate with them about the request for a letter of recommendation.)
