IUIN-P.M.G. and M.S.W. Harris Study Abroad Scholarship (Liberal Arts)

Overview:

Created by P.M.G. and M.S.W. Harris, this scholarship recognizes the importance of study abroad experiences for Liberal Arts students, the value of these learning opportunities in an increasingly global society, and the life-changing occurrence that international study provides. Eligible candidates will be students majoring in a School of Liberal Arts discipline and enrolled in an accredited study abroad program for a semester or year-long academic program. In selecting recipients, preference will be given to students majoring in history or graduate students in history.

Applicants will submit a faculty letter of recommendation, study abroad program information flyer including description of program and costs, and write an essay about study abroad plans, interest in language/culture study, future educational and career plans, and the importance of the study abroad program to your Liberal Arts education. (maximum 500 words)

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in a School of Liberal Arts discipline at IU Indianapolis
  • Be enrolled in an accredited study abroad program for a semester or year-long academic program
  • Submit the required application materials indicated above
  • Preference will be given to students majoring in history or graduate students in history.

Awarding:

This scholarship will be awarded and disbursed in either the spring or summer semester of the current academic year, or during the upcoming academic year.

Renewability:

This scholarship is not renewable.
