IUIN-Rebecca E. Pitts Creative Writing Award for Fiction (Liberal Arts)

The Rebecca E. Pitts Creative Writing Award for Fiction is given to the author of the best short story written by a student who has been enrolled in a creative writing course in the last 18 months and who is currently an undergraduate student at IU Indianapolis. This award is given in honor of Professor Emerita Rebecca Pitts who served the Department of English from 1966 to 1976 and made possible by Pauline Bonderman.

Applicants may not have an advanced degree in English or Creative Writing and may not have published fiction in a national circulated magazine nor have a previously published book. Please submit only one (1) short story. Works submitted for the Rebecca E. Pitts Creative Writing Award in Fiction should not derive from the author’s real-world experiences and may not also be submitted for the Creative Nonfiction Awards. Please do not put your name on any submitted manuscript.
