IUS-Staff Council Scholarship

IU Southeast Staff Council is proud to support our constituent staff who are working to advance their higher education by seeking a undergraduate or graduate credential, a degree or certificate, at any Indiana University. For each fall and spring semester the council awards two $200 scholarship to two different staff members. The criteria to be eligible are:

  • Be at least half-time, appointed staff member, represented by Staff Council per by laws (link to new by laws here), seeking a credential, degree or certificate, from Indiana University.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 and be registered for at least three credit hours. 
  • Like all IU Scholarships the priority deadline to apply for the academic year is March 10, but the application remains open for the next academic year until the last business day in July. Apply via the online application. 
  • Where there are multiple qualified applicants, the award will go to staff member who has served as employee the longest, and who has not won the award in the previous semester or previous academic year.
  • The same recipient cannot be awarded the scholarship for two academic years in a row.
  • While traditionally called “the Book Honorarium,” the Staff Council Scholarship application is not limited to books or tuition. It may be used toward any billable educational expense that appears on student bursar account.
