IUB-Daniel Armstrong Scholarship

This Hamilton Lugar Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who plan to pursue the study of a Slavic or East European language during all four years. Recipients must have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4-point scale. Preference will be given to students who plan their studies with the intent of spending at least one full semester of study abroad in a program approved by IU Overseas Study in which instruction will be in the foreign language of a Slavic or East European country.

    For applicants who have had the opportunity to study a foreign language in high school or have otherwise had some connection to the Russian and East European region, a high school foreign language teacher or an adult leader of an internationally focused extracurricular activity would be most appropriate. The letter should highlight both your academic strengths and your demonstrated interest in and commitment to the study of this region of the world.
