IUIN-Jason Baker Legacy Scholarship (O'Neill SPEA)
Overview:
Supports undergraduate scholarships for sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IU Indianapolis who are majoring in public safety or criminal justice and have demonstrated their commitment to community service as determined by a scholarship committee. The number, amount(s), and recipient(s) of the Scholarship will be determined by a scholarship committee of the School.
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
- Be a sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in public safety or criminal justice at O’Neill Indianapolis
- Have demonstrated their commitment to community service
- Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated financial need.
- If, in a given year, there are no eligible recipients who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors, incoming freshmen may be considered with preference given to students who have demonstrated financial need.
Awarding:
This scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s account for the upcoming academic year.
Renewability:
The Scholarship may be renewed. Recipients may also qualify for renewal as graduate students provided that they are pursuing a degree in the School and demonstrate financial need.

- The Jason Baker Legacy Scholarship was created in memory of O’Neill IU Indianapolis alumnus and Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jason M. Baker, who was killed in the line of duty.
