IUB-IU Auditorium +1 Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by IU Auditorium to undergraduate Auditorium Student Volunteers, Student Managers, and Box Office Clerks. Students must be in good standing with IU Auditorium, have a 3.0 or higher GPA, return as an Auditorium student staff member or student volunteer in the 2026-2027 academic school year, and exhibit +1 customer service characteristics. This scholarship is not renewable.

Supplemental Questions

  1. The IU Auditorium Alumni Association is offering one $2,750 merit-based scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic school year. The +1 Scholarship is awarded to a current Indiana University undergraduate student in good academic standing who is involved in the facilitation of events at IU Auditorium. This student exemplifies the merits of +1 customer service and patron stewardship taught by Doug Booher and the IU Auditorium community at large.


    To be considered, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

    • Current Auditorium Student Volunteer, Student Manager, or Box Office Clerk.
    • Student must be in good standing with IU Auditorium.
    • Student must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
    • Student must enroll in the 2026-2027 academic school year as an undergraduate.
    • Student must return as an Auditorium student staff member or student volunteer in the 2026-2027 academic school year.
    • Student must exhibit +1 customer service characteristics for which the fund is named.
    • +1 is defined as going above and beyond for patrons, colleagues, and peers.
    • Students will only be eligible to receive the +1 Scholarship once during their time at Indiana University.
    • 1. Are you currently an Usher, Manager, and/or Box Office Clerk at the IU Auditorium and will be returning to one of those roles for the upcoming school year?
    • 2. Please submit a 500-word essay explaining the following: 1. Why you are applying and why you feel you qualify for this scholarship 2. How you exemplify +1 philosophy (i.e. examples with patrons, colleagues, and/or peers. 3. The types of opportunities this scholarship may afford you.
    • 3. List at least one reference that can speak to your +1 customer service characteristics. Please include their name, title, email, and preferred phone number.
