IUIN-George T. and Barbara W. Schilling Nursing Scholarship
Overview:
George and Barbara established this scholarship in 2011 to honor their children: Carolyn Schilling Gery and George White Schilling and to honor the memory of their daughter Martha “Marty” Vera Schilling (BA 1975, Indiana University), who died of breast cancer in March 2011. George and Barbara also wish to recognize with gratitude the nurses who provided their daughter with compassionate and quality care.
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
- Be an Undergraduate Nursing Student at the Indianapolis campus
- Be a full-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 12 cr. hrs.)
- Have reached a point in education that student is working with patients; for Undergraduate students this would be Nursing semesters Soph (200 level courses), Junior (300 level courses), Senior (400 level courses)
- Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher on 4.0 scale
- File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Demonstrate financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education’s criteria for need-based federal financial aid
- Have an interest in oncology patient care of oncology research
Awarding:
This scholarship will be awarded for the next academic year.
Renewability:
This scholarship does not automatically renew, but you may receive it more than once.
