IUB-Merle E. Simmons Fellowship

It is the intent of the Donor, and the Foundation agrees, that the income from this gift be used to support graduate fellowships for outstanding candidates of graduate study in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese, as defined by the Department. The Fellowship will be given to students pursuing their Ph.D. whose focus is Latin American Literature. The Donor intends that preference is given to students of Colonial Latin American or Mexican Literature of any period. The Fellowship can be given to the same individual for no more than two years. The number, amount, and recipient(s) of the Fellowship will be determined by the Director of Graduate Studies of the Department, in consultation with the Fellowship Committee of the Department.
