IUIN-Terry Helene Mills Award in Philosophy (Liberal Arts)

Overview:

This scholarship is to support outstanding undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in philosophy at the IU School of Liberal Arts. Terry Helene Mills was an extraordinary human being whose life was devoted to supporting others. She served the School of Liberal Arts and the philosophy department for many years as the department’s administrative assistant.

Recipient will be pursuing a degree in the Department of Philosophy. A GPA greater or equal to 3.5 out of a 4.0 scale is required. Additionally, the applicant must demonstrate their aim to cultivate professional interest in the discipline of Philosophy. The department bases its selection on superior scholastic achievement, faculty recommendations, and active engagement in the Department of Philosophy.

No student application; Faculty nominated and selected.

Nominated students will receive an email notification requesting additional information to be completed in One.IU scholarship management system.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in philosophy in the School of Liberal Arts at IU Indianapolis
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Demonstrate their aim to cultivate professional interest in the discipline of Philosophy
  • Have faculty support

Awarding:

This scholarship will be awarded and disbursed in the fall semester of the upcoming academic year.

Renewability:

This scholarship is not renewable.
