IUIN-Academic Achievement Award for Sociology (Liberal Arts)

Overview:

This award recognizes a graduating senior sociology major who has demonstrated the highest level of excellence in the study of Sociology.

No student application needed. Faculty nominated and selected. The students must be nominated by a Sociology faculty member who has taught the student or supervised his/her work. The department bases its final selection on superior scholastic achievement and special contributions to the Sociology Department.

Nominated students will receive an email notification requesting additional information to be completed utilizing the One.IU scholarship management system.

Eligibility:

Recipients must:

  • Be a Sociology senior who has taken at least 7 sociology courses at IU Indianapolis
  • Have a GPA greater or equal to 3.5 out of a 4.0 scale for IU sociology courses
  • Have graduated or expected to graduate in the academic year the award is granted.
  • Have faculty support

Awarding:

This scholarship will be awarded and disbursed in the spring semester of the current academic year.

Renewability:

This scholarship is not renewable.
