IUIN-Greek Goddess Scholarship in Classical Studies (Liberal Arts)

Overview:

The Greek Goddess Scholarships were created by Aristea Pappas in memory of her husband, William Angelos Pappas, to express dedication and commitment to the School of Liberal Arts and IU Indianapolis and to provide opportunities for students to expand their worldviews and life experiences through their studies. This scholarship will support a scholarship for one student pursuing an individualized major or minor in classical studies, ancient Greek and Latin, or equivalent area. Preference will be given to a student with financial need.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing an individualized major or minor in classical studies, ancient Greek and Latin, or equivalent
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and an interest in expanding their worldview/experience through their liberal arts studies
  • Submit a 500-word essay answering the following prompt:

Why is Classical Studies important to you? How has Classical Studies expanded your worldview/experience? How do you hope it will do so in the future?

Awarding:

This scholarship will be awarded and disbursed in the upcoming academic year.

Renewability:

This scholarship is not renewable.
