IUB-CSLA Borkenstein Dissertation Fellowship

This is a summer fellowship for $5,000 intended to give IUB CCJ doctoral students the opportunity to work on their dissertations. Students must be entering their 4th, 5th, or 6th year of the doctoral program; have a minimum GPA of 3.5; be in good academic standing as stipulated by the CCJ guidebook; and not have received the award previously.

Preference will be given to students whose dissertation and research interests address alcohol and drug issues, especially related to safety or traffic safety issues; SSA-funded; and applications who have successfully defended their dissertation proposal by the application deadline.

Awarded to one Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice (CCJ) PhD graduate student in the spirit of Robert F. Borkenstein, the founder of the Center for Studies of Law and Action (CSLA), and his life’s work and legacy.
