IUB-Reverend Dr. Ernest D. Butler Humanitarian Scholarship

Awarded annually tp full-time students who are United States citizens or permanent residents planning to attend or currently attending Indiana University Bloomington. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of Indiana University and maintain required University grade point averages for the program in which they are enrolled. Applicants must submit the following information to document their religious and community involvement: a nomination letter completed by their church minister commenting on the applicants work in the church, a nomination letter completed by community leader commenting on the applicants work in the community, a five hundred to eight hundred word essay by the applicant explaining why they should be considered for this humanitarian scholarship, and a photo (head-shots only) that will be used for publication if the applicant is awarded the Scholarship. Because, as part of its mission, Indiana University is committed to diversity, special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. The Donor has a preference for African-American, Hispanic, and/or Native American students.
