IUSB-Gertrude Fortin and Joanna Hock Student Teacher Scholarship

The Gertrude Fortin and Joanna Hock Student Teacher Scholarship supports seniors enrolled in the teacher education program at IU South Bend who are participating in student teaching and have submitted an essay describing their involvement in community service. Because, as part of its mission, Indiana University is committed to diversity, special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. The Donor has a first preference for female students and a second preference for students teaching in areas with teacher shortages. The amount of the Scholarship will be $1,000, and it will be distributed after the semester begins. The Scholarship is not renewable.
