IUI-O’Neill School Making a Difference Internship Scholarship (O’Neill SPEA)

Scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IUI who have secured unpaid or low-paying internships at nonprofit, public, or private organizations lasting a minimum of eight weeks or 80 hours. A low paying internship would be defined as a wage and/or stipend that is lower than minimum wage, verified by a letter from their internship supervisor. Preference will be given to students participating in an unpaid internship. The Scholarship is not renewable.

  1. A successful application requires a letter or email from your internship site, which can be an offer letter/email received at the start of your experience or one specifically drafted for this scholarship application. The employer/site supervisor section of the O’Neill Internship Proposal Form will not be accepted as documentation in lieu of a letter/email.

    Upload verification letter from your internship supervisor that includes internship placement, dates of internship, number of weeks & hours, and notes if internship is unpaid or low-paying. If low-paying or stipend, include the amount.
