IUI-Study Abroad Planning Grant (Study Abroad)

Award

• $3000/student
• Students have up to three years from offer to use the scholarship

Commitment – At least once a semester students are expected to:

• meet with their academic advisor and/or career counselor about how study abroad can fit into their academic or career plans.

Eligibility to Apply
• Undergraduate, degree seeking student at IUI, IUC, or IUFW
• Within first year at IUI, IUC, or IUFW (have completed no more than two Fall and/or Spring semesters)
• Must have financial need as determined by your FAFSA

Special consideration will be given to first generation students.
Preference will be given to those without extensive previous international experience.

Eligibility to Receive Funds from Awarded Scholarship – Funds will not be posted to a student’s IU bursar account until shortly before the term in which they will study abroad.

• In order to receive these funds, you must be a degree-seeking student at IUI, IUC, or IUFW at the time of your study abroad experience.
• Participation in a study abroad program approved by the IUI Study Abroad Office. (Please note that individual study abroad programs will have GPA and may have course pre-requisites. You will need to meet these expectations in order to participate in your chosen program.)
• The credit earned from program must count towards your IUI, IUC, or IUFW degree.

    This scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate proficiency in writing. Original work is required, and use of artificial intelligence in writing may jeopardize your eligibility to receive the scholarship. If it is determined, in the sole discretion of the Indianapolis Office of International Affairs and the Study Abroad Advisory Council, that the essay(s) submitted are not the original work of the applicant, the scholarship may be revoked.
